Governor Calls for State Energy Policy

CASPER – Wyoming Gov. Matt Mead told the annual convention of the Petroleum Association of Wyoming (PAW) that both the state and nation are challenged because there is no federal energy policy.

“It goes beyond President Obama to previous administrations … Does our energy policy allow funding of Solyndra and denial of the Keystone pipeline project?” Mead asked. “Everything we do has something to do with energy. We need a sound policy focusing on reasonably priced energy.”

The governor also said Wyoming needs its own energy policy. “Our hands aren’t entirely clean,” he said. “We’re working on the state’s energy policy. We don’t want to be in a reactive mode …Wyoming should be the leader in developing a state energy policy.” MORE …
