Goshen County Frac Job in Hawk Springs Underway
HAWK SPRINGS, WY - The Samson Oil & Gas Spirit of America #2 well in Hawk Springs has begun fracturing stimulation in hopes of producing more oil.
According to a media release, the initial frac will stimulate lower sandstone perforations of the well at around 10,000 feet. A second stage frac stimulation will occur at 9,300 feet, and a final third stage at around 9,200 feet.
All three stages are expected to be completed by Monday if everything goes well.
If an adequate rate of flow is obtained from this frac, Samson Oil & Gas reports that there would be many opportunities to pursue, both within the well aspect itself, and subsequently the twenty-four, 40-acre spaced wills within the prospect. The prospects have substantially identical seismic properties as the Spirit of America #2 well. The prospects are located at substantially shallower depths and could provide a improvement in reservoir quality.
Samson says the well results thus far have been encouraging although future investment in this particular project requires a favorable result from the frac.
