LANDER — Bureau of Land Management officials are wondering what’s next after a district court judge in Idaho last week ruled in favor of Western Watersheds Project in its lawsuit against the BLM and 16 of its resource management plans in Wyoming and five other Western states.
Two plans were extracted as test cases: Craters of the Moon in Idaho and the BLM’s Pinedale field office.
The ruling’s implications are not yet clear, and the parties will reconvene on Oct. 27 to determine the next steps.
“The BLM is working with the Department of Justice to understand the implications of the judge’s order,” said Mary L. Wilson, director of communications for the Pinedale BLM field office.
