BLM Wants Comments on Oil & Gas Leases

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management is seeking public input on the environmental impact of opening up to 125 parcels of land to competitive oil and gas leasing in November. The 125 parcels range in size from 30 acres up to 2,560 acres, spread across Wyoming’s high desert. The BLM field offices in Kemmerer, Rawlins, Pinedale and Rock Springs have jurisdiction for the area.

The agency’s draft environmental assessment will examine three options for the leasing considers options. These include  not to lease the parcels, lease some of the parcels, and a plan to lease all the available parcels.
