Grid Study Underway for 250MW Wind Project
in Weston County
Minnesota-based wind developer Wind Energy America, Inc., is getting to a “critical” stage in the development of a 250-megawatt wind project in Wyoming.
The company confirmed this week it has moved forward with the system impact study for interconnection of 250 Megawatts of wind generation, to the Black Hills Power transmission system, for the Company’s Weston Wind I wind power project, located in Weston County.
The company anticipates on the continued progress on several development milestones including permitting, interconnection and power purchase agreement negotiations over the next several months. The project will be capable of generating enough power (approximately 600 million kilowatt-hours annually) to serve about 60,000 homes.
“Advancing the interconnection process for Weston Wind I is a critical aspect of this wind project and we are pleased with the results we have received thus far.” said Brian Hill, CDO of WEA.
